Associations between patient-reported scores, strength and physical performance tests following shoulder stabilisation surgery

چکیده

Introduction and Aims: Shoulder stabilisation surgery results in substantial time loss from participation sport. Following surgery, most athletes desire to return pre-injury sporting activity at their level. However, high rates of re-injury have been reported strength functional performance tests may provide valuable insight into an athlete’s upper body function readiness sport following surgery. The aim this research was investigate compare (to the unaffected limb) post-operative measures performance, patients after for shoulder instability. Methods: We evaluated a pilot group 17 athletic males 4 6 months Peak isometric external internal rotation force using handheld dynamometer assessed, together with Athletic (ASH) test involving three long-lever I, Y T position on plate. Limb symmetry indices (LSIs) were calculated operated limb, as percentage non-operated limb rotator strength, well peak rate development (RFD) over 100ms each individual ASH tests. Western Ontario Instability (WOSI) Return Sport Injury (SIRSI) questionnaires also assessed. Correlation coefficients undertaken assess relationship between patient-reported outcomes. Results: Only 35%, 59%, 77% demonstrated LSI >90% positions, respectively, while only 47%, 53% RFD these same positions. No associations observed scores (p>0.05). Moderate, negative WOSI LSIs I (r = -0.601; p 0.018) Y-test -0.611; 0.016), positions test, -0.517; 0.049). Discussion: In early trial athletes, tests, both RFD, appeared better relate self-reported quality life than HHD. Future investigating performance-related factors, association sport, are required. Conflict interest statement: My co-authors acknowledge that we no conflict relevance submission abstract.

Correlation Between Changes in Visual Analog Scale and Patient-Reported Outcome Scores and Patient Satisfaction After Hip Arthroscopic Surgery

BACKGROUND Improvements in pain, function, and patient satisfaction are used to evaluate the outcomes of hip arthroscopic surgery. PURPOSE To identify correlations between the visual analog scale (VAS) score for pain and patient satisfaction with 4 commonly used patient-reported outcome (PRO) scores to determine to what extent changes in these 2 parameters are reflected in each of the PRO sco...

Assessing Patient-Reported Outcomes Following Orthognathic Surgery and Osseous Genioplasty.

Primary outcomes for orthognathic surgery and genioplasty patients include satisfaction with appearance, improved motor function, and enhanced quality of life. The goal of this study was to assess outcomes among patients undergoing these procedures, and to highlight the potential use of FACE-Q instrument for use in patients with dentofacial deformities. A total of 56 patients presenting for ort...

Determinants of patient satisfaction following reconstructive shoulder surgery

BACKGROUND Obtaining patient satisfaction is a key goal of surgical treatment. It was the purpose of this study to identify pre-, peri- and postoperative factors determining patient satisfaction after shoulder surgery, quantify their relative importance and thereby allow the surgeon to focus on parameters, which will influence patient satisfaction. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed 505 pati...

Stabilisation of refraction following cataract surgery.

Refraction was performed at frequent, regular intervals for six months following routine intracapsular cataract extraction. Patients were divided into two groups, those whose limbal sections were closed with 8-0 virgin silk or with 9-0 nylon. The stabilisation of refraction was observed, and the most suitable time to prescribe 'first glasses' was estimated retrospectively. In the silk group thi...
